Cette version bénéficie d'un mastering Full Dynamic Range (FDR), offrant une clarté sonore accrue et une profondeur renouvelée à la dernière 'uvre studio du groupe avant leur première séparation. « Swansong » illustre le passage de Carcass du grindcore vers un death metal mélodique sophistiqué avec des riffs puissants et des refrains mémorables sur fond d'écriture complexe ; parmi les titres phares figurent « Keep on Rotting in the Free World » ou « Tomorrow Belongs to Nobody ». Originaire de Liverpool au Royaume-Uni, Carcass s'est imposé comme pionnier du métal extrême dès la fin des années 80 en façonnant le grindcore puis le death mélodique grâce à ses albums majeurs tels que « Necroticism ' Descanting the Insalubrious » ou encore « Heartwork ». "Swansong" is undoubtedly an underrated record, which presented a different face of the British and despite the fact that it is more than obvious that what you hear is CARCASS, the album remained in the consciousness of the fans as controversial.
