The American band Angel was founded in 1975 by Punky Meadows (guitar), Frank DiMino (vocals), Greg Giuffria (keyboards), Micky Jones (bass), and Barry Brandt (drums). As is typical, the band began its career performing in various clubs. Gene Simmons of Kiss happened to be at one of these shows and was so impressed by the band that he called the president of Casablanca Records at 3 a.m. demanding a contract with the Angels. He had no choice but to comply with Simmons's whim, and Angel began work on their debut album. Released in October 1975, it was later recognized as the band's best work. The song "Tower" was particularly popular, and the band used it as a concert opener for many years. Journalists dubbed the band's musical style "grand pump rock." By the time of their second album's release, they had also established a stage image, with the musicians dressed all in white, in contrast to Kiss, who wore black. Following the release of Helluva Band in 1976, the Angels were named best new band by the American rock magazine Circus, beating out Heart and Boston.

The first two albums by the American hard rock band Angel, released in 1975 and 1976. Their distinctive performance and amazing vocals made this group one of the most beloved among music lovers.

These are the first and second albums by the American rock band, and were released in 1975 and 1976 respectively. Listening to this group, you immediately understand that this is music from America. Overall, not bad.

If ever a band epitomised being in the wrong place at the wrong time then this is the band!Issuing Prog/metal at a time when Kiss/Aerosmith and BOC were riding high and latterly pop rock when the USA wasnt quite ready was the bands downfall, but dont let that put you off, contained in this 2 disc set are two of the best cd's you never heard.

ANGEL great band... I wonder how big this band would have gotten had Casablanca Label invested more money in promoting them instead of Kiss. Highly recommended
