Alexander S. - 22.08.2019 An interesting album with a very strong influence of DIO. For some reason, it is customary to criticize "Mob Rules", although, in my opinion, it perfectly continued the undertakings of "Heaven and Hell". Of course, the album has weaknesses, such as the fast, melodic and not very catchy "Turn Up the Night", and as if written under the impression of "LA Connection" (from Dio's past in Rainbow) "Slipping Away", which, however , the song did not spoil. I must admit that the prolonged "The Sign of the Southern Cross" is a little depressing, but here it tastes and color.
Things such as "Voodoo" with its mesmerizing rhythm and the hurricane "The Mob Rules", in which Ronnie James energetically convinces us not to obey blindly the general opinion, have gone down well in the group’s history. Surprisingly, in my opinion, the best thing on the album is deprived of attention: "Falling off the Edge of the World". It begins with an alarming beautiful introduction, which is replaced by slow heavy and viscous riffs, however, not for long - soon the rhythm accelerates, and we hear a quick and rather gloomy song about the end of the world with excellent solo and vocals. The stringy “Over and Over” sounds very appropriate after it, and how the choir non-stop humming these words “again, and again, and again ...” with the support of Iommi guitar is a good end to the album.
Despite some flaws, this album seems to me more solid than the previous one. It is sustained in approximately the same way, but not monotonous, full of hits and listens perfectly from start to finish. Perhaps I will not be very objective in my assessment, but still I will recommend to all fans of Black Sabbath and Dio as a masterpiece album.
| | Valeriy R. - 25.06.2018 A budget reissue of one of the best (I mean non-Ozzy time) albums by the hard rock giants. The impressive music, the great voice of R.J.Dio but rather pure decoration.
| | Vladimir M. - 27.05.2015 Mob Rules is Classic heavy metal album and it's iny my top 20 heavy metal albums of all time! Legendary Ronnie James Dio on vocals, Iommi riffing, fantastic production and legendary songs. Do you need more? Buy this album and enjoy. I know you will.
| | Andraz Z. - 29.08.2014 The classic jewelcase re-release of Black Sabbath's Mob Rules. The sound is remastered, no bonus tracks included, the booklet istself contains some liner notes about this release, mr. Dio etc. A recommended album.
